The Dual Wield Studio Store is OPEN Again! - And a Look Ahead…

Hey, everyone!

2025 has been…a year.

We lost Rowan Rowden, our studio co-founder and dearly missed friend. Our license with the Tamora Pierce team ended. And our warehouse unexpectedly closed. There’s also everything still ongoing with new tariffs on goods imported to the US, where our business is primarily based.

Despite the challenges this year, our team remains positive and optimistic about the future.

We’re so excited to announce that our storefront has officially REOPENED! 🎉

We’ve found great, new partners in CRWN Studios to manage shipping and fulfillment. They’ve been wonderful so far in taking in our stock, cataloging and organizing it, and preparing everything for a seamless experience for both you and us!

Now that the store is reopening, we want to share a look ahead at the future:

DRAGON AGE

We are so excited to announce that we have asked our warehouse to start fulfilling the Dragon Age preorders!

The only products left to make it to the warehouse are the Solas Keychain Plush and the premium versions of the Solas and Rook prints.

As a reminder, prints will ship separately. If you ordered the Solas Keychain Plush, that will be sent once it's in and approved at no additional cost.

Thank you everyone for being so patient with us!

The extra stock of the other items are available to purchase:

We’ll have more products to come by early next year at the latest (if not sooner!), and we’re so excited to share them with y’all.

AMAZING ARTIST COLLABS

We’ve partnered with Kevin Jay Stanton to release a new capsule collection. More information to come in the next couple weeks, but trust that it’s absolutely beautiful and perfect for the chilly season to come.

IRON WIDOW

We appreciate all the love and support for our Iron Widow merch over the years! We’ve got more items in the production process, and we’ll share more as we get closer to 2026, the fifth anniversary of the book series!

PUTTING THE SPOTLIGHT ON PAST MERCHANDISE

You may notice when the storefront goes live some product that was previously available is no longer listed!

We want to give love to the amazing creators we’ve worked with and are going to relaunch select product to give them the highlight they deserve.

Some merchandise will only be available at conventions moving forward, namely:

UPDATES TO HANDLING COSTS

With the change to CRWN Studios for shipping and fulfillment, as well as *gestures tiredly* the general state of the world, we’re rolling out some updates to handling costs!

Working with CRWN, they charge Dual Wield Studio $5 for every order they handle, so:

  • For smaller value domestic orders (under $15), we’re going to offer a $6.50 flat shipping rate, and Dual Wield Studio will cover most of the costs to keep shipping prices as low as possible for you
  • For larger value domestic orders (over $15), we’re going to cover half of the handling fees ($2.50) and the other $2.50 will be added to your order
  • For international orders, a flat $5 fee is added to account for handling

To use real world examples for domestic orders:

  • You order one pin and the value of the order is under $15, that will ship at about 4 oz in a 6x4x1 inch box. Rates shipping from CRWN in Portland to New York would be about $4.85, but with the flat shipping rate you would pay $6.50.
    • As CRWN’s handling cost is $5, most companies would charge you $9.85 to cover the fee entirely.
  • You order two pins and the value of the order is over $15, that would ship at about 6 oz in 6x4x1 inch box. Rates shipping from CRWN in Portland to New York would be about $5.20 via USPS Ground, so you would pay $7.70 total ($5.20 + $2.50).
    • As CRWN’s handling cost is $5, most companies would charge you $10.20 to cover the fee entirely.

For International Orders:

We’ve started using Managed Markets in Shopify, which will give our international customers more options for shipping! This should, hopefully, make it easier to receive product and choose the shipping carrier that works best for you.

For all international orders, regardless of value, a $5 charge will get added to the shipping costs of your order to account for handling.

PERSONNEL CHANGES

Dual Wield Studio is here for the long haul. Regardless of the challenges we’ve experienced this year, we’re still planning for 2026, 2027, and beyond. We have no plans to close and want to provide quality merch made by and made for fans for years to come.

We’ve had some personnel changes, and we’ve taken the time to update our Meet the Team page to showcase all our staff, past and present.

GOODBYE TWITTER (YES, TWITTER)

Elon sucks, Twitter has become a cesspool for deeply troubling alt-right bigotry. We’re done posting there and will be showcasing all future announcements and posts on:

Dual Wield Studio has always been and continues to be a proudly-queer-owned-and-operated company. We stand against racism, sexism, transphobia, queerphobia, ableism, religious intolerance, and any other prejudice against protected and marginalized groups.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and patience over the years! Keep an eye on this space for more updates about product launches, behind the scenes sneak peeks, and more!
