Artist Spotlight #4 Featuring: Synnesai!

We're excited to announce our fourth Artist Spotlight, featuring Synnesai!

With our artist spotlight series, we want to highlight artists that we've worked with who are doing unique items and give you a peek into the background process behind how these kinds of works are created. We spoke to Synne about what kind prompted her to get into this work, what she loves about it and more!

We've worked with Synne on a few projects (none announced publically yet) but we've included some of their work below:

What do you do?
I illustrate and design art for projects or individuals that need something to help promote their work. I also love designing merchandise for projects to help fans feel connected with the things they love such as t-shirt designs, enamel pins, acrylic items (charms, standees, displays, etc), posters, and much much more! I've recently just started work as a line artist for an upcoming webcomic, so lately I've been dipping my toes into comics as well.

What or who would be your dream client or project?
I don't really have a dream client. Any client willing to work with me is a dream. I'm always looking for ways to improve and learn more about this industry.
My dream project though would definitely be to do a book cover. Not sure for what, but it always seemed like something amazing and something I want to try at least once. Just any cover- a book, comic, anything! I think it would be amazing to feel my art in my hands like that and see it in other people's hands too.
I'm open to anything though, just doing art as my job is a dream come true!

What work are you looking for right now?
I'm looking for any work for any studio or project that might need some merchandise designed or even a simple promotional picture (key art/visual). I'm always looking forward to any opportunities and ways to gain more experience.

How did you get started, and how long have you been doing this?
I got started in art in 2011, but I didn't start taking it seriously as something I can support myself with till late 2014. Since then it's been a lot of learning and growing.

What conventions do you generally attend, and in what capacity?
The cons I go to as an attendee regularly is AX, SDCC, RTX, Wondercon, and E3.
Except for RTX these cons are close to where I live so traveling to those are easy. The first time I sold as an artist in artist alley was at AX 2018. It was a great experience. I was supposed to sell again this year (2020) but AX was canceled.
I've helped booth set up at E3 and SDCC before. Mostly as a runner, setup/tear down, and line/audience management.
